What you'll do

The Opportunity

This is a strategic seat at the centre of the CEO's Office, created to multiply the CEO's capacity. It is not a support role.

The mandate is twofold: to own the CEO's highest-priority initiatives and drive them to completion, and to serve as a genuine thought partner on the decisions that shape the firm's trajectory. It combines strategy and execution, finance depth and general management exposure, high autonomyand high accountability, and offers a fast track into the operating core of a scaling global finance firm.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Own the priorities. Take end-to-end ownership of two to three of the firm's most important initiatives at any time, spanning growth, key client engagements, and internal builds. Escalate decisions, not tasks.
  2. Partner on strategy. Challenge and sharpen the CEO's thinking on new markets, service lines, partnerships, positioning, and pricing, backed by structured analysis and a clear point of view.
  3. Run the execution engine. Translate direction into plans, cadence, and tracking. Own follow-through across the CEO's commitments so nothing of consequence slips.
  4. Represent the CEO. Deputize with clients, partners, and vendors, and prepare the CEO for critical engagements with concise, well-organized briefings.
  5. Apply finance expertise. Contribute substantively across FP&A, transactions, client frameworks, and delivery models, with real fluency rather than coordination alone.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. A professional qualification: MBA from top institution, Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Cost and Management Accountant.
  2. Approximately five years of post-qualification experience, ideally including consulting, strategy, corporate finance, or a CEO's or founder's office.
  3. Finance fluency sufficient to add value on substantive work, not solely to manage it.

Who You Are

  1. High agency. You spot what needs to happen and move, without waiting to be directed.
  2. Strategic thinking. You see the whole board, connect the threads the CEO is chasing, and bring a clear point of view to the decisions that shape the firm.
  3. Influential and credible. You hold a room, carry senior conversations, and move people to act.
  4. Patient and organized. You bring the steadiness and structure that a fast-moving CEO does not, holding detail and order where others lose it.
  5. Disciplined execution. You are the person who finishes. You build systems, close loops, and let nothing slip. This is the defining requirement of the role.
  6. Comfortable with uncertainty. You keep your footing when priorities shift and information is incomplete.

The Operating Context

This role is defined by proximity to a fast-moving CEO.

The CEO operates at high velocity and generates direction faster than any single person can execute. Communication is direct and outcome focused. Success depends on turning half-formed direction into shipped work, closing what would otherwise be missed, and returning with options and a recommendation rather than open questions. The role also calls for confidence to challenge the CEO directly, backed by data and judgement.

Those who thrive here are self-starting finishers energized by pace and autonomy. Candidates who need close supervision, a detailed brief before starting, or a predictable routine, and those strong on vision but light on delivery, will not be the right fit.

Impact in the First 90 Days

  1. Assume full ownership of two to three of the CEO's current priorities and drive them to a measurable result.
  2. Establish a reliable execution and follow-through rhythm across the CEO's commitments.
  3. Become a trusted partner to whom the CEO can delegate complex problems with confidence they will be resolved.
